Support That Truly Understands You

At the Danny Boy Foundation, we offer mental health care for neurodivergent children, teens, adults, couples, and families.

Our services are free or low-cost for those in financial need.

You don’t have to navigate this alone, and you don’t have to change who you are to receive support.

Who We Support

When we refer to neurodivergence, we are including:

  • Autism

  • ADHD

  • Learning differences

  • Sensory processing differences

  • Tourette / tic disorders

  • Intellectual and developmental differences

  • Twice-exceptional profiles

  • Related neurodevelopmental and cognitive differences

You may benefit from support if you:

  • Have a diagnosis or suspect you may be neurodivergent

  • Experience chronic masking, burnout, sensory overwhelm, or executive functioning challenges

  • Feel misunderstood, unsupported, or isolated

Services are available to individuals residing in Michigan.

What We Offer

We provide a range of services designed to meet you where you are:

  • Psychological evaluations (ADHD, autism, learning differences)

  • Individual therapy for children, teens, and adults

  • Couples and family therapy

  • Parent coaching

  • Group counseling

Our care is always tailored to the person, not forced into a one-size-fits-all model.

If you are unsure which service fits your needs, we can help you identify the next step.

What Makes Our Care Different

  • We don’t see neurodivergence as something to fix. We understand that brains work in different ways, and those differences matter.

    This means:

    • You are not expected to mask or pretend to be someone you’re not

    • We adapt how we communicate, structure sessions, and support you

    • We focus on strengths while helping with real-life challenges

Our goal is to help your environments better support you.

  • Many neurodivergent people come to therapy with some level of trauma—experiences that have shaped how they feel, trust, and cope. Trauma is the lasting impact of experiences that felt overwhelming or unsafe.

We approach this with care by:

    • Prioritizing emotional and physical safety

    • Moving at a pace that feels manageable

    • Offering choice, collaboration, and transparency

    • Understanding behaviors as responses, not problems

You will not be rushed, judged, or pushed beyond what feels safe.

  • Your identity, background, and lived experiences shape how you move through the world and how you experience care.

We provide support that actively considers and respects:

    • Race, ethnicity, and experiences of racism or marginalization

    • Faith, spirituality, and religious identity

    • Gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation

    • Immigration, acculturation, and family cultural dynamics

    • Language, values, and community context

    This means:

    • We do not make assumptions about your experiences or identity

    • We understand that systems have not treated all people equally, and that impacts trust

    • We work to create a space where you can show up fully, without needing to explain or defend who you are

We are committed to ongoing learning, humility, and accountability, because culturally sensitive care is a practice.
